A catch-all functionality that is enabled for a given mailbox will allow you to receive emails that are sent to email addresses that do not actually exist. To put it differently, if you deactivate an email address and someone still sends a message to it, or to any misspelled email address under the same domain name, you will receive the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality implies that you won’t miss an email for any reason whatsoever, which could be vital in case you are running some company, for instance. Since you may start receiving unsolicited emails, you can use the catch-all functionality with email filters so as to receive only authentic email messages in your inbox. Just one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for a catch-all mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

If you’ve got a shared website hosting plan with us and you wish to enable the catch-all option for a particular e-mailbox that you’ve got in the hosting account, it will take literally just a single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in your account. You can choose one address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature momentarily, so all email messages sent to miswritten addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button once again will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will exhibit a warning note and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature till you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all email address can be configured with a couple of mouse clicks if you have a Linux semi-dedicated server with our company. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed through our in-house developed Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to create mailboxes using any domain registered there. To enable the catch-all functionality for a specific mailbox, you’ll have to click on the symbol with the exact same name, which will be on the right side of each mailbox. Deactivating this option can be accomplished in the very same manner and will not require more than one click either. In case the catch-all option has already been activated for a particular domain, you’ll get a warning text message. The same goes if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never disable or replace anything automatically.
